If you would like to post your personal practice on Practice Room, send an email to idiosyncratic.dialogue@gmail.com that includes:

  • the details of what your practice is
  • why you do it
  • the name/pseudonym you want to use in the post or a short bio about who you are

If you have any questions about what to post or not, check out the “Practices are” and “Practices aren’t” page that try to define what kinds of practices this blog is interested in. If you’re still not sure, send an email anyway and say so. Don’t share anything you don’t want to; this seems obvious, but I just want to state it explicitly. I am not interested in prying or making people feel uncomfortable. Seriously. I am grateful to you if you do want to share your practice on my blog. Something seems to start happening between people whenever they open up about their little quirks and personals, and this is exactly what I want to start with: an idiosyncratic dialogue.

Participate in an Idiosyncratic Dialogue

This blog collects accounts of practices that people have, indulge, use, hide, and hide in. You are invited to share your personal practices as well as comment on others'. Most of the entries follow a what + why format, explaining the details of what the practice is as well as why it is done. The what is pure idiosyncrasy; the why is where things tend to get very interesting. If you would like to post your practice, email the what and why of it to idiosyncratic.dialogue@gmail.com.
